PU VC urges nation to follow teachings of Hazrat Muhammad (ﷺ)
![]() LAHORE: (Thursday, September 11, 2025): Punjab University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Muhammad Ali has said that sectarianism has no roots as all the Muslims are connected to Hazrat Muhammad (ﷺ). He was addressing the inaugural ceremony of the three-day National Calligraphy Competition and Exhibition on Isma-un-Nabi (ﷺ) organized by Punjab University Sheikh Zayed Islamic Center. On this occasion, Director SZIC Professor Dr Muhammad Abdullah, Principal College of Art and Design Professor Dr Samina Naseem, Chairman Jamia Muhammadia Sharif Chiniot Sahibzada Muhammad Qamar-ul-Haq, President Iqbal Youth Forum Malik Umair Awan, Chief Organizer and Founder Ashraf Al-Qalam Pakistan Muhammad Ashraf Hira, artists, teachers and a large number of students were present. In his address, PU VC Prof Dr Muhammad Ali said that we want to convey the message of love for the Prophet (ﷺ) through the exhibition. He appreciated the services of Sahibzada Qamar-ul-Haq and said that the one who loves the Prophet (ﷺ) is the best Muslim. He said that the birth of Hazrat Muhammad (ﷺ) is the greatest kindness of Allah Almighty. He said that through the personality of Hazrat Muhammad (ﷺ), we have come to know Allah. He said that we should benefit from the lifestyle of the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) and see how Hazrat Muhammad (ﷺ) treated non-Muslims, women and children. He said that it is also our duty to convey the message of Hazrat Muhammad (ﷺ). He said that there is very little content available on the Seerat-un-Nabi (ﷺ) on social media. He said that there should be abundant content on social media on the rights of the people and the state system introduced by Hazrat Muhammad (ﷺ). He said that the secret to success in the world is following the lifestyle of Hazrat Muhammad (ﷺ). He said that works of art are very beautiful, they should be encouraged. He appreciated Dr Muhammad Abdullah and his team for the national calligraphy competition and exhibition on the names of the Prophet (ﷺ). Dr Muhammad Abdullah said that artists from all provinces of Pakistan are participating in the competition. Dr Samina said that art is a gift from Allah. Muhammad Ashraf Hira said that about 500 artworks were submitted, out of which 250 were selected. He said that 85 percent of the artworks were submitted by women. Muhammad Qamar-ul-Haq highlighted the role of academia in promotions of teachings of Hazrat Muhammad (ﷺ) and thanked PU VC Dr Muhammad Ali for his support for such events.
